📜 What is Zakat al-Fitr?
Zakat al-Fitr (also called Sadaqat al-Fitr) is an obligatory charity due from every Muslim — young or old, male or female — before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. It purifies the fasting person from minor shortcomings and ensures the poor can also celebrate Eid.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The fast remains suspended between heaven and earth until Zakat al-Fitr is paid.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)
Amount: One Saa’ (approximately 3kg) of staple food (wheat, rice, dates, barley) per person — or its cash equivalent: [AMOUNT].

⏰ Critical Deadline: Before Eid Prayer
Zakat al-Fitr must be paid before the Eid al-Fitr prayer to be valid. If paid after, it is considered regular charity (Sadaqah), not Zakat al-Fitr.

✨ The Spiritual Wisdom of Zakat al-Fitr
Ibn Abbas reported: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordained Zakat al-Fitr to purify the fasting person from idle talk and obscenity, and to feed the poor. Whoever pays it before the prayer, it is an accepted Zakat; whoever pays it after the prayer, it is just a charity.” (Sunan Abi Dawud)
By paying on time, you purify your fast, help the needy celebrate Eid, and earn Allah’s pleasure.
