5. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal obligations. Donation records are retained for a minimum of 7 years for tax compliance. Marketing preferences are reviewed annually.
6. International Transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), adequacy decisions, or Binding Corporate Rules. All field operations in Africa use encrypted communications and locally-compliant data handling.

Charity & Hope International holds recognised charitable or tax-exempt status in multiple jurisdictions. Donors may be eligible for tax relief subject to local rules.
United States

United Kingdom
Registered charity No. 1234567 (England & Wales). Gift Aid registered — UK donors may increase gifts by 25% at no extra cost.
France
Reconnue d'utilité publique. Donations are eligible for 66–75% income tax reduction under Article 200 CGI.
Germany
Gemeinnützigkeit anerkannt. Member of Deutscher Spendenrat e.V. Zuwendungsbestätigung issued for all qualifying donations.
How Your Donation Is Allocated
We are committed to maximising the impact of every donation. Our allocations are independently audited annually.
Tax Receipts
- Issued automatically for donations of £50 / $50 / €50 or more
- Available on request for smaller donations
- Digital receipts provided by default; paper receipts available on request
- UK Gift Aid declarations processed automatically for eligible UK donors
Refund Policy
Donations can be refunded within 30 days of the transaction if processing errors occur or if a donor has made an unintended contribution. Contact [email protected] to request a refund. Once funds have been disbursed to programmes they cannot be recalled.
